Jessica ROse Weiss
Jessica Weiss is a composer & songwriter who grew up in New York City. She spent her early career assisting in various studios in Manhattan and in London at De Lane Lea/Warner Brothers Studios. It was there, that she was recruited by Hans Zimmer to work at Remote Control Productions in Santa Monica, California. After working on various films at Remote Control, she decided it was time to venture out on her own and work independently. Since then, she has worked on music for feature films, documentaries, television series, and ad campaigns for clients such as Netflix, Dreamwork's, Warner Brothers, Red Hour Productions, Youtube Red & Mark Burnett Productions.
Projects include additional writing for composers Mychael Danna (On the Basis of Sex, Life of Pi), John Debney (The Greatest Showman, Elf) & The Newton Brothers (The Haunting of Hill House, Extinction, Dr. Sleep.)
In 2018, she scored 3QU Media's animated upcoming feature film "Trouble," starring Snoop Dogg & Betty White. She also scored the TV show "Liza on Demand" for YouTube Red and wrote additional music on the Netflix film "Extinction" for the Newton Brothers. She was also a finalist in the Dreamwork's/Universal Film Composers Lab Initiative and completed scoring Sam Bailey's film “Masculine/Masculine" which premiered at the LA Film Festival in September.
Recently, she completed the score for Nicol Paone's film "Friendsgiving" (produced by Ben Stiller's Red Hour Productions) as well as writing additional music for Oscar-winning composer Mychael Danna on “A Dog’s Way Home.” She is currently writing additional music for him on MGM’s new animated feature “The Addams Family” as well as scoring the feature film “Everything I Ever Wanted to Tell My Daughter About Men” directed by Lorien Hayes.
