Laura Merians
Laura Merians Gonçalves is the award-winning Cinematographer behind the Darren Aronofsky produced drama PACIFIED, which won the Golden Seashell for Best Film at the San Sebastián International Film Festival as well as the Jury Prize for Best Cinematography, resulting in Merians being the first woman in the history of the festival to ever win this award. PACIFIED then went on to win the Cinematographers’ Debut Competition at the prestigious Camerimage Film Festival, where Merians received a lot of praise for her cinematography of her first feature film. Previously, Merians shot Beyonce’s highly anticipated music video, BIGGER, in connection to Disney’s THE LION KING. Merians was also the Director of Photography on Björk’s stunning music video MUTUAL CORE. Other credits include the Musical SACK LUNCH for Netflix and A24, and additional photography on Josephine Decker’s SHIRLEY premiered at Sundance 2020. She was named ASC 2020 raising stars of cinematography.
